Everyman Theatre’s Community Engagement Initiative expands and deepens Everyman’s existing community-based work and more closely connects the Greater Baltimore community to the work on Everyman’s stage.
With a renewed focus on the universality of the human experience, this Initiative seeks to connect communities and individuals around the themes, struggles, hopes and truths found within Everyman’s season of plays, building lasting partnerships and innovative programs that celebrate the diverse stories that define us.
WHY COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT?
Everyman Theatre’s Community Engagement Initiative begins with the premise that stories are inherently powerful. Within each play is a cathartic journey that transcends age, race, neighborhood, faith, class, profession and more. Though told through specific characters who experience specific emotions and encounter specific obstacles, the journeys taken in the best plays of our time reveal the themes, struggles, hopes and truths that we all face as part of the human experience.
Led by our Community Engagement Director, Brian Francoise, Everyman Theatre will conceive, develop, implement and oversee community-based programs.
