Elementary School Residency Program

Bring one of our teaching artists into your classroom for a day, a few weeks or even a whole year. Based on principles that support a cooperative and collaborative learning space, an Everyman teaching artist will meet with partnering teachers to create a program that suits the needs of a specific class community. By aligning classroom goals with the experience of the Theatre, Everyman aims to support arts-integration opportunities that introduce students to an aesthetic dramatic skill-set, while deepening the core subject learning experience. One-off classroom workshops can explore themes not limited to: communication and collaboration, vocal and physical expression, pantomime, role play, character creation, and storytelling. Longer residencies allow for deeper exploration into such content and culminate with a performance, allowing students the important opportunity to participate in the entirety of a creative process.

Making Connections: Middle School Residency Program

In a Making Connections residency, an Everyman teaching artist will guide participating students through the creative process, facilitating opportunities to explore, learn, and create through the art of Theatre. This experiential learning program will foster important life-skills such as collaboration, confidence, communication, expression, focus, problem-solving, and accountability. Through community-building activities the residency will bridge the art form with other disciplines and connect to the students’ own lives, promoting a shared experience in the arts. The program will culminate in a sharing of the work created throughout the 10 to 12 week process.
