Accessibility

We believe that theatre should be accessible to all.

Please notify the Box Office of your needs when ordering your tickets so we can do our best to accommodate you. Our already low ticket prices preclude us from offering discounts for patrons with special needs.

For Patrons With Mobility Concerns

    Accessibility Icon
  • Everyman Theatre is ADA compliant, offering a gently sloping ramp into the Lobby and Theatre, with step-free access to seating. We offer accessible bathrooms, one of which can provide a personal private facility if needed. We also offer early seating for patrons with mobility concerns.

For Patrons Who Are Deaf or Hearing-Impaired

  • Accessibility Icon Assistive Listening Devices: The Theatre offers 10 assistive listening devices per show (8 headsets, 2 loop devices). Patrons are asked to leave a phone number and a form of ID, which will be returned to you when the ALD device is returned. ALD devices are distributed in the Lobby near the entrance doors. The ALD system also works with T-coil hearing aids.

  • Accessibility Icon ASL Sign Language Intpretation: Everyman Theatre will present two signed performances in the 2010-2011 season:  Shipwrecked! on Saturday, October 23rd at 2 PM and Shooting Star on Thursday, February 17th at 7:30 PM.  Patrons may request other dates with 10 business days notice. We'll do our best to accommodate your needs; if we are unable to help, we will consider providing a free seat for a companion that can assist you.

  • Scripts: While reading a script in no way replaces the live theatre experience, patrons can request a script in advance to prepare for their trip to the theatre.

For Patrons Who Are Blind or Have Low Vision

  • Special Seating: Patrons who have low vision are invited to seat themselves during early seating.

  • Accessibility Icon Large Print Programs: Complimentary Large Print programs are available upon request from the Box Office. No reservation is necessary, although if patrons notify us in advance, we can have Large Print programs set aside for you.

  • Accessibility Icon Audio Description: Provided upon request with the support of Maryland Arts Access, Audio Description offers live description of the play's action and production elements between dialogue on stage. Our policy asks patrons to request the service at least one week in advance of their selected date.
