This service is more than just transportation; it’s about making cultural experiences more accessible and enjoyable for everyone in our community.”

ABOUT FREEDOMCAR

Founded in 1991 by Mark Thistel and Robyne Lyles, FreedomCar started as an ambitious venture under the name “Freedom Services Association,” with a broad mission to serve Baltimore’s aging population through a variety of services. However, the founders quickly honed their focus to transportation, identifying a significant need for reliable, respectable, and affordable car services amidst the unappealing options of taxis and limousines at the time. They crafted a unique niche—professional yet accessible transportation without the frills, perfectly suited for everyday people.

Over the years, FreedomCar has grown resiliently, navigating through challenges like 9/11 and the Great Recession without layoffs and continuously adapting to meet the evolving needs of its community. This adaptability was particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, where FreedomCar was a leader in safety, being one of the first in Maryland to mandate vaccinations for both staff and clients, demonstrating a commitment to public health and customer trust.

Today, FreedomCar is not just a car service but a vital part of Baltimore, deeply integrated into the community. They take pride in their city, actively supporting local organizations and events that make a difference. With a strong emphasis on trust, comfort, value, and transparency, FreedomCar continues to serve its clients with a personal touch, understanding the roads they travel and the people they transport. The company operates from its vibrant office on Falls Road, welcoming anyone to visit their colorful premises and experience their commitment to service firsthand.

FreedomCar is changing the world, one ride at a time, always driven by a love for Baltimore as much as by the roads that weave through it. Visit www.freedomcar.net to learn more.

ABOUT EVERYMAN

Everyman Theatre provides transformative experiences through professional theatre that is welcoming, relevant, and affordable to everyone, featuring a Resident Company of Artists from the Baltimore/DC Area. Each season of plays is carefully chosen to foster a diverse range of human experiences found in a mix of dramas and comedies selected from timeless classics to world premieres. Diverse, equitable, and inclusive storytelling is vital to living up to the name “Everyman.” The theatre engages, inspires, and transforms artists, audiences, and our community through the highest artistic standards and makes it affordable and accessible to everyone.

Since its founding in 1990 by Vincent M. Lancisi, who remains Everyman’s Artistic Director, the Theatre has grown in size and recognition into what the Wall Street Journal calls some of the “Best theatre nationwide” and what MD Theatre Guide calls “One of the crown jewels of [Baltimore’s] theatre scene.”  With an annual operating budget of $6 million, Everyman is among the ten largest cultural institutions in Baltimore, serving over 32,000 constituents last year.

Now in its 33rd season, Everyman Theatre is unique in that it presents original productions of a diverse range of plays that span from classic to contemporary using a resident company of artists — a tradition of theatre-making that has become increasingly rare at the professional level, with only a handful remaining in the country. In addition to its Resident Company of 19 actors and 7 designers, Everyman employs 35 full-time staff and over a hundred seasonal production employees and teaching artists.

Everyman Theatre stands in solidarity with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and AAPI (Americans and Pacific Islanders) communities and is committed to an equitable, diverse, and inclusive atmosphere at every level of our organization. to learn more.
