SEASONAL BARTENDER (EVENINGS/WEEKENDS)

Everyman Theatre is seeking a Seasonal Bartender to assist with Front-of-House (FOH) operations and concession sales during live performances for the 2025/26 season. As a bartender you have a unique opportunity to make a positive, lasting impression of Everyman Theatre by delivering a superior guest experience!

The Seasonal Bartender provides excellent customer service while efficiently preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as other concession items for sale at the bar (snacks, commemorative drink cups, etc.) to theatre patrons during performances and events. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and venue policies.

Job Type: Seasonal
Hours: Everyman typically schedules 6-8 performances per week for each show, with bartenders expected to work a five-hour shift at each performance – approximately 30-40 hours per week. Specific shift times will be determined by the Front of House Manager.
Location: Everyman Theatre, 315 W. Fayette Street Baltimore, MD
Pay Information: This position is a seasonal, non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $19/hour, plus tips. This position’s weekly hours will take place primarily in the evenings and weekends but will vary depending on the show and event schedule, and staffing needs per day.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, and beer—possibly using signature show-themed drink recipes – as well as other typical concession items.
  • Set up and break down bar stations before and after performances ~60–90 minutes before curtain
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and surrounding areas.
  • Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) system. (CLOVER)
  • Engage patrons in a friendly manner and ensure customers are aware of all available options, including promotional items for sale (such as the specialty cocktails.)
  • Verify age and ID of customers for alcohol service
  • Restock supplies and communicate inventory needs to management.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and resolve patron issues professionally.
  • Work collaboratively with box office, ushers, and other theatre staff.
Desired Skills + Experience
  • Must be 21+ to serve alcohol.
  • Has knowledge and/or experience with bartending or food service.
  • Evening and weekend availability.
  • Cash register and cash handling experience.
  • An eye for detail and the ability to think on their feet.
  • Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Baltimore City approved Alcohol Service Certification
  • Comfortable with evening/weekend hours tied to performance schedules.
  • Availability to work a minimum of four (4) shifts per week.
  • Bartender’s Permit Type 900

PART-TIME PATRON SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE

Everyman Theatre is seeking a Patron Services Representative to assist with Front-of-House (FOH) operations during live performances. As a Patron Service Representative, you have a unique opportunity to make a positive, lasting impression of Everyman Theatre by delivering a superior guest experience! 

FOH responsibilities consist of all things related to the guest experience, and assisting patrons as needed to support a positive theatre-going experience. Representatives may be considered for cross-training; some may be assigned duties in one or more areas at management discretion. Stations where you will assist include; Box Office, House Manager, Bar & Concession sales, Greeting and Ushering.

Job Type: Seasonal Part-Time
Hours: This position requires both weekend and weekday-evening availability to work a minimum of three shifts per week. 
Location: Everyman Theatre, 315 W. Fayette Street Baltimore, MD
Pay Information: This position is a seasonal part-time, hourly non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $18.50 (19)/hour plus, tips. This position’s weekly hours will take place primarily on evenings and weekends but will vary depending on the show and event schedule, and staffing needs per day. Patron Service Representatives can work a maximum of 35 hours per week; there is no guarantee of hours.  

Primary Responsibilities

Everyman’s Patron Service representatives uphold the organization’s mission of delivering a welcoming experience to everyone who engages with us and are expected to create a welcoming environment by delivering an intentional and sincere level of hospitality.

This involves:  

  • Inviting interaction with patrons in a personable and approachable manner. 
  • Proactively taking steps to anticipate customer needs and remedy situations.  
  • Being knowledgeable of theatre operations while understanding the patron viewpoint. 
  • Able to embrace a fast-paced environment where you may be challenged to think quickly and maintain composure under pressure. 
  • Patiently serve passionate customers, addressing any/all concerns, questions, or needs, in a timely and courteous manner.   
Shift Duties and Taskes (Include but are not limited to)

Assisting in preparing the theatre prior to the start of performances, under the direction of the FOH Manager 

  • Providing guidance to volunteer ushers before, during, and after performances, and assisting with issue resolution 
  • Coordinating with designated station leads to ensure a smooth performance 
  • Collaborating with the FOH Manager to understand and communicate appropriate messaging for each show 

Supporting the House Manager and Stage Manager in addressing audience needs 

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience with creating a welcoming environment for the public. 

  • Knowledge and experience with live theatrical events 
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail. 
  • Has direct-consumer POS experience in a retail environment. Bonus if knowledgeable with ticketing software (i.e., Patron Manager, CLOVER)  
  • Can work effectively as both a team player and as a team leader.

TEACHING ARTISTS

Everyman Theatre seeks skilled and dynamic Teaching Artists for on-site and in-community classes serving students of all ages.

Job Type: Independent contractor position
Hours: Varies based on instructional schedule
Location: Classes take place at either Everyman Theatre, 315 W. Fayette Street Baltimore, MD OR in various community locations in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.
Pay Information: Starting pay scale of $55 per hour, commensurate with subject expertise, qualifications,  program, and length of class. Additional compensation for planning periods and orientation meetings will be provided. 

Primary Responsibilities
  • Apply your unique theatrical background and knowledge to creating a fun, artistically stimulating class experience for students.
  • Guide students through exercises and activities in music, drama, movement, and/or visual art with a focus on social-emotional competencies
  • Create lesson plans that adhere to institutional and departmental goals that must be submitted to and approved by the department; Organize a thoughtfully structured curriculum for students, and accurately reflect successes and areas of support to the Education and Community Engagement team.
  • Follow a lesson plan provided by the department as necessary.
  • Prepare projects and activities for students, with the assistance of administrative staff.Communicate to staff in a timely manner prep needs for classes. 
  • Demonstrate patience, compassion, and energy in a focused manner.
  • Support students on their learning journeys through engaging content, reflective conversations, and advocacy.
  • As an instructor, exhibit behavior and execute classroom management strategies that are in accordance with Everyman Education and CE expectation and values, as outlines in the Everyman Theatre Code of Conduct
Desired Skills + Experience
  • A passion for working with students that may range in age from early childhood through adulthood. Please indicate your experience with various age ranges, as well as any preferred age ranges, in your application materials. 
  • A background in creative dramatics or interdisciplinary arts, certification or training in a specialized theatrical discipline, and/or experience crafting devised work. 
  • A background in theatre and/or education, with professional theatre experience preferred.
  • A desire and enthusiasm for working in a professional theatre environment, particularly with youth.
  • Bartender’s Permit Type 900
  • A willingness to collaborate with other artists, educators, and staff.
