GREAT ARTISTS, WELL TRAINED.

Everyman Theatre’s professional training program provides theatre artists with rigorous training that engages deeply with craft and process. Our classes are taught by Everyman resident company members and staff as well as local professional theatre artists who engage students to unlock their imagination and cultivate skills. Everyman is committed to expanding the hearts and minds of our students through the amplification of empathy by seeing ourselves in the stories of others through the art created in the classroom, and beyond.

SPRING CLASSES

Fractured Fairytales (Grades K-2) 

Time:Saturdays, 10:00am – 11:30am  
Date: April 18 – June 6

Instructor: Tarshai Peterson 

Fairytale characters collide, and worlds combine in this unique drama experience. The imagination is celebrated through an exploration of music, dance, drama, and visual art! In each class, students enter a new fairytale world. From fantastical kingdoms to enchanted forests, the story is the vehicle for each adventure but not everything is as it seems. This class features a final sharing of highlights of their story-based adventures.

Puppetry (Grades 3-5) 

Time:Saturdays, 10:00am – 11:30am  
Date: April 18 – June 6

Instructor: Raecine Sinletary 

Discover the magic of puppetry in this fun and creative class! Each week, students will design and build their own unique puppets, from sock puppets to paper bag puppets and beyond. Through playful games and hands-on activities, they’ll explore character creation, voice, and movement while developing teamwork and performance skills. The session concludes with an exciting showcase where friends and family can experience their puppets and stories come to life on stage. Join us for an imaginative journey into the world of puppetry!

Young Actors Ensemble (Grades 6-8) 

Time:Saturdays, 12:00pm – 1:30pm 
Date: April 18 – June 6

Instructor: Tarshai Peterson
In this unique experience, students explore actors’ craft through the exploration of monologues and scenes. This class focuses on the actor’s tools and leaning into storytelling for the stage by activating the body, exercising the voice, and engaging the imagination. Students learn the tools of creating authentic characters and ensemble building which culminates in a showcase to share with family and friends at the completion of 8 weeks.
