GREAT ARTISTS, WELL TRAINED.
Everyman Theatre’s professional training program provides theatre artists with rigorous training that engages deeply with craft and process. Our classes are taught by Everyman resident company members and staff as well as local professional theatre artists who engage students to unlock their imagination and cultivate skills. Everyman is committed to expanding the hearts and minds of our students through the amplification of empathy by seeing ourselves in the stories of others through the art created in the classroom, and beyond.
Fall Classes
Storybook Theatre (Grades K-2)
Teacher: Tarshai Peterson

Description:
Get your story books and prepare to explore your creativity! Together, the ensemble will choose a storybook to bring to life through music, dance, drama, and design. This seven-week course builds dramatic language and social-emotional skills. The last class features a final sharing of their story-based adventures.
Teaching Artist:
Tarshai Peterson is an arts educator, performing artist, and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience working with young people of all ages. She is the Founder and CEO of The Treasure Box LLC, a company dedicated to creating joyful, arts-based experiences for children and families.
An ensemble member of WombWork Productions Theatre Company and a playwright specializing in Theatre for Young Audiences, Tarshai uses theater as a tool to nurture young people’s well-being, creativity, and voice. She holds a BFA in Theatre from Bennett College and an MA in Educational Theatre from New York University.
Her mission is to create joy in the places that need it most by using the arts to inspire connection, healing, and meaningful experiences for children, families, and communities
Magical Worlds (Grades 3-5)

Description:
Join the ensemble as we create an original — and magical! — play. Students create characters, write a script, and rehearse a new play set in a world steeped in magic and magical creatures. Over the course of 8 weeks, students hone their acting skills and embrace storytelling, and the course culminates in sharing a small piece of theatre with their friends and family.
Teaching Artist:
Sofi Becherer recently graduated from Towson University with a degree in Business Administration. She has been acting, directing, and producing theatre for most of her life. She was an intern at Everyman in the spring of 2026. Sofi attended Everyman summer camps when she was in middle and high school and is thrilled to be teaching now.
Comedy Club (Grades 6-8)
Teacher: Hannah Jeffrey

Description:
Calling all budding comedians. This fast-paced class invites creative risk-taking as students create a witty improvised comedy show to perform for family and friends. With a special focus on sketch-comedy and improvisation games that cultivate core skills of the theatre-artist, students will deepen their appreciation for the diversity of the art form.
Teaching Artist:
Hannah Alden Jeffrey is a Baltimore-based comedian and producer with a passion for community building and silliness. Her sold out solo performance “Hannah LIVE: A One-Han Show” has entertained captive audiences all over Baltimore and debuted on the comedy festival circuit earlier this year. Hannah recently started The REALLY COOL Open Mic, a show and mic specifically for women and LGBTQIA+ comics to work out material in a welcoming, supportive space. Hannah trained in improv, acting and sketch comedy with the LA-based Groundlings and Pack Theaters, The Theatre Lab in DC and the Baltimore Improv Group (BIG). She has dreams of becoming a crossing guard, and her favorite animal is the mighty manatee. Follow her online @hannahaldenjeffrey.
REGISTRATION PROCESS
You will complete registration information upon purchasing the class. Once a class is purchased, Everyman Theatre’s Education Team will reach out with a welcome email at least one week before the class starts with any additional information you may need.
All class sales are FINAL SALE: This means there will be no refunds, unless one of the following applies:
Withdrawal from a class: While we know that plans shift, we strive to provide exceptional service and programming for all students. This includes attendance for ensemble building. If you must withdraw, you will receive a credit that can be used towards any class in our current season. Class credits expire on June 30th, of any given season. Be sure to use them before this date.
*Should any student be asked to withdraw from class or any program, our Director of Education will issue a refund at their discretion and contingent of the reason for removal.
Scholarship Recipients: Should you miss more than 3-class sessions during any program offering your scholarship is awarded for, you will be removed from programming with no refund or class credit.
Cancelations: Should Everyman cancel a class for any reason, students will receive a full refund.
PAYMENT PLANS:
Some classes have an option for payment plans. We will reserve your spot in the class of your selecting with a non-refundable deposit equal to 25% of tuition. Full payment is required prior to the start of the first class, or your spot in the class will be forfeited.

In need of scholarship support?
We encourage you to apply for a need-based scholarship by completing this FORM. Our need-based Creative Journey scholarship awards range to cover a portion of the tuition. While funding is limited, we work hard to accept as many students as possible throughout the year. Scholarship Applications can be submitted on a rolling basis.
