“Everyman Theatre is a valuable cultural and artistic resource for our City.” – Joy, Donor & Subscriber
We know that timing and budgeting for your community support (not to mention remembering to give consistently for maximum impact!) can be a challenge. Simplify your life by choosing an amount that works for you each month and know that your recurring gift will create a reliable source of ongoing funding for the theatre.
Your sustaining donation will provide security and stability so that Everyman Theatre may continue to create innovative arts programming, support our Resident Company, and bring theatre to Baltimore City students and beyond.
Gifts of every size matter and your generosity will ensure that Everyman Theatre continues to thrive.
Honor/Memorial Gifts
Have a birthday, bar mitzvah, anniversary or other special event coming up? In lieu of gifts, make a gift in honor of others or ask your friends and family to make a tax-deductible contribution to Everyman Theatre. Gifts of any size are welcome, and your support will be recognized in a special section of the main stage show program. A very special letter acknowledging your generosity will also be sent to the recipient or family. Many patrons also choose to honor the memory of a loved one with a gift to Everyman Theatre.
In-Kind Gifts
In-kind gifts of goods and services are invaluable to Everyman Theatre, as they help to offset operating costs and ensure that more of our donors’ dollars contribute directly to the art onstage. If you are a local business interested in supporting Everyman Theatre, please consider making an in-kind donation.
Employer Matching Gifts
Many companies in the Baltimore Area will match your contribution. Please check with your HR Department or call us and we will research your company regarding matching gift.

IRA Gift
If you are 70½ years old, the IRS allows you to allocate a contribution directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) without having to pay federal taxes on the distribution.
As of December 2015, the IRA Charitable Rollover was passed by Congress. For those who are 70½ or older, any amount up to $100,000 can be distributed tax-free from your IRA to Everyman or your other favorite charities For married couples, each spouse can make a QCD up too $100,000 limit for a potential total of $200,000. This amount can count toward your required minimum distribution for the year in which the distribution is made. Although these distributions are not deductible as charitable contributions on your income tax return, they impact your taxes because they are not treated as taxable income to you.
Here’s how it works:
- You must be 70½ or older at the time of distribution.
- You may distribute any amount up to $100,000 in a calendar year to charity, as long it is completed by December 31 of the year in which you intend to make the charitable distribution.
- Your IRA administrator must make the distribution directly to the charity, or you may write a check payable to the charity from your IRA checkbook.
- If you make a gift to Everyman from your IRA, please include written instructions on how you would like to designate your gift by making a note on your IRA check.
Certain restrictions and requirements* must be followed when making this type of gift. For more information, please contact the Development Office at 443.615.7055 x7500 or development@everymantheatre.org or your IRA administrator.
Planned + Estate Giving
There are many ways to make a planned gift in support of Everyman Theatre. These gifts generally come from assets. The three types of planned gifts are:
- Outright gifts of appreciated property including real estate, artwork or stocks
- Gift that return income to the donor or have other financial benefits to the donor in return for a contribution, ie. Charitable Gift Annuity
- Gifts payable upon the donor’s death.
For more information, please contact the Development Office, at 443.615.7055 x7500 or development@everymantheatre.org.
Capital Gifts
Capital gifts generally support the physical structure or physical needs of the theatre including lighting and sound equipment, electronic media and computers and equipment. Usually these gifts are given during a capital campaign. We are not currently in a capital campaign but have several capital items for which we are seeking support.
If you are interested in learning more about how you can help with specific capital items, please contact the Development Office, at 443.615.7055 x7500 or development@everymantheatre.org.

You can support Everyman Theatre by directing gifts to Everyman Theatre through your donor-advised fund.
A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a giving vehicle established as a public charity and allows charitable contributions. With a DAF, you will receive an immediate tax deduction for any money put into the DAF and then can recommend grants from the fund to qualifying charitable organizations.
You can support the work of Everyman Theatre by directing gifts to us through your donor-advised fund. Visit your DAF’s website and choose Everyman Theatre as the charity of choice when directing a donation.
