Get to Know Me

What does being part of Everyman’s Resident Company mean to you?

I always wanted to be in a place where I could be of use. Everyman continues to teach me how to do that in so many ways! We are a family, there is no doubt about that. And we are a family of artists, recognizing and supporting the art and the personhood in each other. I am so happy to be in a place committed to learning how to change, to open up.

How has your time as a Resident Company Member influenced your artistic journey or career?

We’re all on a journey together and individually. Being here has helped me to be fearless with my art and ready to be helpful with my scene partners. You can pick up on the smallest things with someone you’ve spent some time with, someone you trust. I love all the delicious roles I get to play and all the wonderful directors I get to work with!

What connects you to Everyman Theatre?

I saw my first show around 1996, The Foreigner, which was delightful! I just kept coming back after that. My first role was in The Cripple of Inishmaan in 2006, and I discovered that the distance from the DC suburbs to Charles Street mattered little compared to the joy I felt walking through that door. Fast forward to the pandemic where Everyman Theatre went into action. There was a streamed presentation of our collaboration with the Baltimore City Office of Equity and Civil Rights called THE HOUSE THAT HOLDS US, telling stories from the city streets on the subject of fair housing. We saw the start of the C.A.R.E.S. team that says best who we are and who we seek to be as we support our community. We also did some some wild and crazy things with the education department. We started the Everyman @ Home series, and so much more. All this plus a great season, all streamed and all fully produced! Undaunted? Count me in!
