Accessibility

Everyman Theatre is committed to access for all.

Please inform the Box Office of your specific accommodations when ordering your tickets so we can do our best to fulfill your request. You may do so in the note field of your ticket order or contact the Box Office.

We offer several options to help remove barriers for our patrons.

Mobility

Everyman Theatre is ADA compliant offering a gently sloping ramp into the Lobby and Theatre and step-free access to seating and accessible bathrooms.

Hearing

Assistive Listening Devices
Everyman Theatre offers a limited amount of assistive listening devices (ALD) for each show. These devices can be picked up in the lobby prior to a performance. The Box Office will ask for a license or credit card as collateral while the device is being used, which will be returned to you when the ALD is returned. The ALD system also works with T-coil hearing aids.

ASL Sign Language Interpretation
ASL Sign Language Interpretation is provided upon advanced request. To request an ASL interpreter, please contact Corey Frier at cfrier@everymantheatre.org.
Please allow two weeks’ notice so that we can arrange for these accommodations.

Closed Captioning Device
Everyman Theatre offers patrons complimentary tablets with closed-captioning software installed on the device for each performance. These tablets can be picked up at the Box Office prior to a performance. When signing out the device, the Box Office will ask for a license to be held while the device is being used; this will be given back to you when the tablet is returned.

Vision

Touch Tours and Readings for the Blind
Everyman Theatre has partnered with the Maryland State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped for several years. Each season, Everyman Theatre hosts what is known as a “touch tour” of a given production. This tour allows patrons of the Library for the Blind to touch and explore various aspects of the set, sound, and costume design for the show. Throughout the season, Everyman Theatre also brings cast members to read scenes at the Library. Everyman Theatre also offers audio described performances of all productions. Patrons may request audio description on a given date by calling the Box Office during normal business hours.

Large Print Programs
Complimentary large print programs are available upon advanced request to the Box Office so we can have large print programs set aside for you when you arrive.

Audio Description
Provided upon request with the support of Maryland Arts Access, audio description offers live description of the play’s action and production elements between dialogue on stage. Requests should be submitted 10 business days prior to the desired performance. Please contact Corey Frier at cfrier@everymantheatre.org to make a request
