Brandon Weinbrenner (he/him) is the newly appointed Artistic Director of Everyman Theatre, the second in its history. Previously, Brandon was at the Alley Theatre in Houston, TX as the Associate Artistic Director. In his 13 years at the Alley, Brandon directed over a dozen mainstage productions including Misery, Clue, Noises Off, The Humans, and the world premiere of The Body Snatcher. He was on the founding team of Alley All New, the Alley’s new play development pipeline that includes the Alley All New Festival which he produced, cast, and directed in for nine years. Additionally, he spearheaded the creation of the University of Houston/ Alley Theatre Professional Actor Training Program, a 3-year MFA in Acting program that culminates in a year-long fellowship at the Alley.
Prior to Baltimore and Houston, Brandon graduated with a BFA in Acting from the University of Minnesota/ Guthrie Theatre Actor Training Program. His time as an actor, while fruitful, ultimately inspired him to create work for actors and actively cultivate community and resources that can support live performing arts. This led him to such positions as Regional Director of King Trivia Entertainment in Los Angeles, Producer of the Out of the Loop Fringe Festival at Water Tower Theatre in Dallas, and the Bret C. Harte Directing Fellowship at Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
One of the most exciting aspects to joining Everyman Theatre for Brandon, is the continuation of a lifelong career working in a Resident Company model. Having grown up in Dallas watching the Dallas Theater Center resident company to working with and managing the Resident Acting Company at Alley Theatre for 13 years, Brandon fervently believes in collaborating with a core group of artists, intentionally positioned at the heart of the organizational mission. Brandon is thrilled to now be working with Everyman’s Resident Company to bring professional theater that reflects our community’s diverse identity to Baltimore.
Brandon is married to fellow theater maker Mitchell Greco, who currently resides in Houston with their rescue dog, Clyde.
